1. Acceptance of Terms & Mission

Welcome to Farewell Cards (reachable at https://farewell.cards). By registering an account, purchasing a memorial page, or interacting with tributes (lighting virtual candles, posting memories, or leaving voice messages), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

Our mission is to provide a dignified, ad-free, and permanent digital space for families to honor loved ones. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.

2. One-Time Pricing & Lifetime Access

Farewell Cards operates on a transparent, one-time payment structure for permanent memorial pages ($149 USD / €149 EUR / £129 GBP / CHF 144 / CA$199 / A$229) as well as a 1-Month Free Trial option.

• No Subscription Traps: Lifetime Memorial pages require only a single, one-time fee. We do not charge recurring monthly or annual subscription fees for standard pages.
• Merchant of Record: All payments are securely processed by our trusted partner Polar.sh (Polar Software Inc.) and Stripe. Farewell Cards does not store full credit card or banking details.
• Refund Policy: If you are unsatisfied with your memorial page within 14 days of purchase, please contact support for assistance.

3. Memorial Pages & User Content Ownership

You retain full ownership rights to all photos, text, biographies, audio clips, and media you upload to Farewell Cards.

• License to Host: You grant Farewell Cards a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and store your uploaded content solely for the purpose of serving your memorial page.
• Gallery Storage: Memorial pages include high-capacity photo and video storage (50MB+ base allocation). Additional storage expansions can be purchased as optional add-ons.
• Co-Management & Roles: Page creators (Primary Owners) may invite family members as co-managers. Owners retain the right to edit content, manage privacy, and delete tributes.

4. Interactive Features: Virtual Candles & Voice Vault

Visitors can participate in digital tributes under fair-use guidelines designed to preserve site integrity:

• Virtual Candle Tributes: Visitors may light 1 virtual candle per memorial page every 24 hours. Visitors can delete their own most recent candle within 24 hours. Memorial owners and site admins retain full authority to delete any candle at any time.
• Voice Vault Audio Memories: Audio recordings left by visitors undergo owner review or automated security checks before being published.

5. Content Standards & Respectful Conduct

Farewell Cards is a sacred space for remembrance. We maintain zero tolerance for hate speech, harassment, explicit content, spam, or unauthorized commercial advertising. We reserve the right to remove any content or suspend accounts violating these standards without notice.

6. Limitation of Liability & Service Availability

Farewell Cards is built on enterprise-grade Google Cloud Infrastructure (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage). While we implement continuous automated backups and high-availability systems, the service is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted availability.
